About the Scholarships:

The scholarships listed below are open to Binghamton University students pursuing education abroad programs. Please note the eligibility requirements listed at the bottom of each brochure page before starting an application. Applications for Binghamton-based scholarships are available via this online application system, unless indicated otherwise. Follow the links below for additional information and to access the applications.

Bearcat Abroad Scholarship
This scholarship is intended for students participating in any Binghamton-administered education abroad program. Preference will be given to students participating in Binghamton-administered faculty-led programs as well as students from historically underrepresented backgrounds in education abroad.

CEA CAPA Scholarship
Provides funding for students participating in CEA CAPA programs through Binghamton University who are from historically underrepresented backgrounds in education abroad.

Cheryl Terrass Naslund Study Abroad Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a student with demonstrated financial need participating in an education abroad program in a non-English speaking country.

Dr. Israel J. Rosefsky Language and Culture Scholarship
This scholarship is intended for students who will study abroad using a foreign language and who demonstrate a commitment to working towards peace. 

Evelio Figueroa Memorial Study Abroad Scholarship
This scholarship is for undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need who wish to acquire a deep understanding of another culture through education abroad. 


Jean Su and Charles M. Kim '98 Education Abroad Scholarship
Awarded to a participant of the SUNY (Albany) semester exchange program at Yonsei University or YISS (Yonsei International Summer School) program with demonstrated financial need.

Marjorie B. Turnbull Spanish Language and Culture Scholarship
The scholarship provides students with funding to foster learning of Spanish language and culture, with primary focus on Spain.

Myers Family Scholarship
Provides funding for historically underrepresented graduate and undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need for education abroad and exchange.


Reeves-Ellington Study Abroad Scholarship
Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to students in the College of Community and Public Affairs.


Thomas and Rae O'Connor Scholarship
Established to benefit a Harpur College student with at least a 3.0 GPA to study with primary focus on a Binghamton Spain program.
