Binghamton Based Scholarships
About the Scholarships:The scholarships listed below support Binghamton students to participate in any in person SUNY education abroad program. Applications for Binghamton-based scholarships are available via this online application system, unless indicated otherwise. Follow the links below for additional information and to access the applications. Some of these scholarships require letters of recommendation. Plan ahead to allow your references ample time to write on your behalf.
Cheryl Terrass Naslund Study Abroad Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student with demonstrated financial need participating in an education abroad program in a non-English speaking country.
Dr. Israel J. Rosefsky Language and Culture Scholarship
This scholarship is intended for students who will study abroad using a foreign language and who demonstrate a commitment to working towards peace.
Evelio Figueroa Memorial Study Abroad Scholarship
This scholarship is for undergraduate students who wish to acquire a deep understanding of another culture through education abroad but do not have the financial ability to cover the cost of the experience.
Irene S. Oppenheim/Gabriela A. Russo Memorial Study Abroad Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time, female student participating in a SUNY education abroad program in Italy or the Middle East (North Africa). Preference given to students who demonstrate financial need.
Jean Su and Charles M. Kim '98 Education Abroad Scholarship
Awarded to a participant of the SUNY (Albany) exchange program in Korea at Yonsei University.
Marjorie B. Turnbull Spanish Language and Culture Scholarship
The scholarship provides students with funding to foster learning of Spanish language and culture, with primary focus on Spain.
Myers Family Scholarship
Provides funding for historically under-represented graduate and undergraduate students for education abroad and exchange. Click the link above for a list of under-represented categories.
Reeves-Ellington Study Abroad Scholarship
Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to students in the College of Community and Public Affairs.
Thomas and Rae O'Connor Scholarship
Established to benefit a Harpur College student with at least a 3.0 GPA to study with primary focus on a Binghamton Spain program.
